PowerPacT J-Frame automatic switches are a disconnect device and can be used to open and close a circuit under normal operating conditions. The automatic switches are similar in construction, use the same accessories, and offer the same connection possibilities as the J-Frame circuit breaker version. The switches have a factory set, nonadjustable trip point calibrated to protect the molded case switch. The automatic switch can make and break its rated current. For an overload or a short circuit, it must be protected by an upstream device. PowerPacT J-Frame switches are available in unit mount, I-Line, plug-in, or drawout versions. This switch has terminal nuts on the line side and lugs on the load side. This PowerPacT J, 250A, 3 pole, automatic switch has a short circuit withstand current rating of 50kA at 600VAC. PowerPacT J automatic switches comply to UL and CSA standards.
